Pay and Play Terms & Conditions

Who can hire?

• Suitable for over 6 years with an accompanying adult Age 18+.
• SUP’s and single kayaks minimum age 12. An adult must be with them at all times on the water
• Canoes, suitable for up to 4 persons. E.g.2 adults and 1 child, 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children side by side (age 4- 8)
• No height or weight restrictions apply but must be able to fit into safety equipment.
• Must be water confident.
• Activities may be unsuitable for people with injuries, broken bones, severe bruising, registered disabled, recently recovering from major surgery, major mobility issues. Please make us aware when booking

What’s Included?

• The 2 hour Pay & Play session includes craft booked online, buoyancy aids or life jackets for smaller children and paddles if required.
• There may be an opportunity to swap craft subject to availability during the session

What to Wear?

• You must wear suitable clothing, we do not recommend jeans, hoodies or thick fabric that can retain water. Running/cycling/outdoor wear is fine. Wetsuits can also be worn. We do not provide these.
• A change of clothes and towel (just in case!)
• Footwear must be worn at all times.

Arrival Time

• Please arrive no later than 5.45pm as this will shorten your pay & play session.
• Allow time for parking and to be issued your craft, kit and signing of Terms & Conditions

Safety Equipment

• All our safety equipment is regularly checked before issue
• Our Personal safety equipment must meet the minimum standard – Minimum 40 neutons buoyancy aid
• Our Safety equipment will be fitted correctly before launch on the river and MUST be worn at all times while on the River.

Times & Prices

• Pay and play sessions are a strict 2 hours long.
• Launch on your booked craft will be between 5.30 and 6pm
• You must be off the river by 8pm
• Extra time is not permitted
• Pedalo’s and Rowing Boats are for 1 hour only in Pay and Play Sessions
• Prices are charged at a set discounted rate only available online
• Walk in hire will be charged at the standard rate

Cancellation Policy

• 48 hour cancellation policy for our evening Pay & Play sessions
• We will offer a full refund in the event of severe weather conditions or adverse river levels.

River Safety

• The hirer is responsible for the Cotswold Canoe Hire’s equipment, themselves and others (e.g. minors) in their care whilst on the river and our propertyYou will be advised before launch of what to do in the event of a capsize or getting into difficulty
• In the event of severe weather, or a significant rise in the river level we will cancel the session and full refund given.
• Any suspected unsafe or inappropriate behaviour will result in your activities being suspended if a warning is not heeded. Our team members will terminate any activity in this instance. In such occurrences, no refunds will be given. If you are asked to do so, please return yourself and your equipment to the main pontoon as quickly and safely as possible

The River Environment

• Please avoid contact with bushes as this can adversely affect the local wildlife and seriously damage the local habitat. Please do not feed any of the rivers wildlife as it can negatively affect the rivers delicate eco system
• Avoid getting between swans and their nests or young. Always paddles away from aggressive swans
• Respect anglers and other users on the river. When asked if you can see their line, answer the question. This filament lines can be invisible to you.
• Respect our neighbours along the river in canal boats and the riverside
